What Is Heroin?
Heroin is a recreational drug used for its euphoric effects. It is an opiate and a natural product of the opium poppy. It was first made in 1874 from Morphine. The Harrison Narcotics Tax Act was passed in 1914 to control the sale and distribution of Heroin and other opioids to be sold for medical purposes. In 1924 Congress banned its sale.
